Solar Corvette Interceptor

The Solar Corvette Interceptor is one of the many experimental spacecraft in the Lesfdm asteroid belts. It is called the Solar Corvette Interceptor because it is the only of its craft to be produced, and, unless someone purchases the design, it is likely to remain that way. Several things make this craft unique - and thus more expensive. The most noticeable are the large solar panels that partially encompass it, but there are less noticeable design changes as well.
The solar panels serve as the energy gathers for four huge batteries located mid-ship. This "excess power" can be used to enhance the vessels shields, Ion engines, or power the 4 turbolasers, or some combination. The transfer of power from the batteries requires a fair amount of training, but a good capital ship shield operator can generally pick up the task quickly. A majority of the vessels engine capacity is directed to the maneuvering systems and hyperdrive engines. This makes this vessel superior to many in these areas.
The vessel is shaped somewhat like the 'Advanced Proton Torpedoes' that are sometimes used (See the game TIE Fighter). Except that it has 4 wings that extend from the hull some 20 meters then branch in either direction. The wings link with one-another to engulf the back half of the vessel in what amounts to a giant cylindrical solar panel. Interestingly the ends of these wings are where the vessels laser cannons are located, but these lasers are powered by the ships generator not by the batteries as one might expect. This ship is currently in use by the Lesfdm defense force protecting the Super, and its design team, but it, as well as its design is for sale by Nova Corporation for the right price.
