Joraan Drive Systems Empress Super Tanker is amongst the market leaders for bulk fluid transportation vessels and is employed for both commercial and military duties across the galaxy. At four hundred meters long, the Empress has two cylindrical storage containers that run down the port and starboard sides of the vessel. The main body of the vessel is quite narrow and rectangular with a raised bridge section at the rear of the vessel.
For propulsion the vessel relies on two Goliath-4 engines, which gives the Empress a very high thrust capacity and modest speed. The vessel is unarmed, but its tough armour plating and reasonable shielding more than make up for it.
The two storage containers are each divided into four chambers, allowing the vessel to carry up to eight different fluids. Each chamber has its own external access point, pump and pipe work to ensure that there is no contamination of the fluid. They also have their own flushing system to clear each chamber of any residue fluid. The chambers are environmentally controlled, enabling a variety of products to be carried.
The Empresses used by the Empire are primarily used to resupply Waypoint stations and vessels on blockade duties.
