Vodoni

Vodoni are humanoid wolves, and many consider them to be a brother race tothe Shishaven. They average 6 ft 8 and range in fur tones from sandy blond all the way to dark black. They are excellent trackers, bodyguards, and gladiator arena fighters. They have some attunement to nature and worship the moon of their home planet. Vodoni = race, Vidonni = plural (groups of them), Vodonni = singular.
The Imperials, when they found them, treated them like they did the Wookies, at first, by enslaving them. But after many disastrous deaths, they decided to put them to work as bodyguards for Moffs and the like. They also, sold them to various planets, to be used in the gladiatorial pits/arenas, in which many Vidonni have excelled.
They have a tribal culture, not unlike the old American indian's way of doing things. They worship everything as if it had a spirit. Also, they worship the moon (Luna), and those who are Jedi, gain certain benefits, depending on their Auspice (birth phase of the moon). Their tribes, each have a "king", who is served by 3 to 5 elders. These elders are served by 12-20 vodonni bodyguards, and 2 tribal shamans (Jedi), and the Rank and File of the tribe are the warriors, handmaidens (midwives) and food gathers. While these tribes do fight amongst themselves, if an enemy comes along and kills members of one tribe, he/she has earned the enmity of all Vodoni. Each tribe's warriors, are split into 5-8 member packs, and each pack worships a specific totem (deity of an animal spirit). While these totems do not give any tangible benefit, they are continued to be worshipped, even in this enlighted universe.
Their outlook on the Force, both light and dark sides, is that both have a place. The light side is seen as compassion, wisdom and forethought, while the dark side is seen as their internal rage, fury and anger at those who would harm them. In this, many of their kind do become followers of the dark side, but are not ostracized from the tribe, infact they usually become the greatest of the tribe's warriors. As a side note, like the Wookies, in another risks their life to save a Vodonni, or a group of Vidonni, he/she has earned a life debt. This will carry for the rest of the life of the Vodonni who was saved, but does not extend to any other members of the savior's family. Also this can be broken (with no loss of honor) if it was found out that the one who the debt is owed to, did what he/she did, for personal gain. Also it can be broken, if the one owed the debt does something to harm another Vodonni.

Vodoni Jedi:
For the Vodoni Jedi, the phase of the moon that they were born under, gives them certain benefits and penalties. Those born under the new moon, are considered the Ragbash, and will always gain +1D to any stealth rolls. They suffer, though, as all search based skills cost 2 more CP than usual. Those born under the crecent moon, are called the Theurges, and gain +1D when rolling any Sense power. They suffer -1D to alter rolls at all times. Those born under the half moon, are the Philodoxes, and enjoy status as the judges. They get +1D to any roll for investigating a crime, or for seeing if someone is lying, or conning. They have no penalty. Those born under the gibbous moon are the Galliards, and they are the peace makers and diplomats. They gain +1D to all perception skills that call for interaction with others. Like the Phillodox, they have no penalties. Those born under the full moon are the Ahrouns. They can enter a berserker rage gaining - double the strength dice for damage (although can only use melee or brawl attacks), adds +1D to all attack rolls, but suffers from being unable to tell friend from foe, and cannot dodge or parry any attack. They have their own penalties associated with being berserkers. The benefit that those who are Wendigo get, in addition to the increased dark side resistance dice, is, it costs them Half the number of CPs to increase any skill. This does not apply to specialties or increasing attributes. They also cannot choose to buy Force sensitivity later in life.

Templates:
Vodoni they can pick any template, and gain benefits from any bonuses and equipment the template has. They start game play with only 500 credits, 1 melee weapon and 1 gladiatorial chest plate (+1D+2 physical, +1D energy, no dex penalty) only, irregardless of how much normal starting funds the template they pick gets. They cannot start game play with any "futuristic" specialization (blasters, space ship skills).

Weapons:
They can use any melee weapon, hand held firearms, blasters and the Wookie bowcaster. They, if a Jedi, can also use the lightsaber. If one of them does become a Jedi, he gains an extra dice to resist turning to the dark side. If the player opts to have his character be non-force sensitive, he is a Wendigo. Wendigos cannot gain any force points, although they can (and do) get dark side points. They get 3D to resis turning (i.e. 4 or more dark side points are needed before one of them turns). They Age as humans, but only live till around 70 or so. They can operate any type of ship, even starfighters, but due to their bulk, many choose to go for larger ships or freighters. They cannot wear any type of armor, save for Gladiatorial chest plate and arm sheath.
