Hol Okand

Hol Okand was born to a pair of slaves mininer one of the Killdore moons. There he grew up among other slaves including several Wookies. After his parents died when he was seven, a female Wookie named Ckrrallararra raised him as one of her own. For the next ten years he was one of the repair technicians serving the repulsorlift equipment. Imperial troops raided the mining colony to find the mining head, and to get more slaves for a major construction project (the Death Star). Okand was sent to have training and become a TIE Fighter pilot while most of his friends were taken away. After six months of piloting training he took some leave and defected to the alliance. They evaluated his abilities and placed him under Jon Vander (Dutch) in "Specter Squadron." Together they raided the Imperial outpost 119-b2-K779 orbiting Kashyyyk. Okand destroyed the PB-950 patrol vessel while Dutch disabled the supply station. During his time on Yavin he met and befriended another Wookie - Chewbacca. Okand was killed in the attack on the Death Star, his designation was Gold 6. People who knew Okand, said he was a compulsive gambler, Chewbacca (through Han) says that he lost 500 credits to Okand on a bet about the time it would take to destroy the Death Star.
