Cal Alder is a native from the planet Kal'Shebbol, located in the Kathol Sector. He there was trained in scouting duty. When he joined the Alliance, he was assigned for duty under Bren Derlin. The Alliance was happy to have Cal Alder as competent scout. When the Rebels were finally forced to move their headquarters to Hoth, Cal Alder was one of the leading scouts of Echo Base. He was usually assigned to patrol the outer perimeters of Echo Base. Cal Alder later volunteered for General Solo's team to blow up the shield generator on Endor. Many of the former Hoth scouts were also part of the team.
