Class C Frigate
The Class C Frigate is a typical escort starship, manufactured by Kuat Frive Yards, before the improved design of the Nebulon-B Frigate. The Class C Frigate measures 330 meters in length and has cargo space for up to 8,000 metric tons. Therefore the ship has only hangar space for one squadron of starfighters. But the cargo bays can easily be converted into additional hangar space. The Class C was usually assigned to escort larger capital ships like the Victory-class Star Destroyer. The frigate has enough heavy firepower to deal with patrols and can even get troublesome to a light cruiser. Kuat Drive Yards later improved the firepower in their new type of escort satrship, the Nebulon-B Frigate. This ship has more Turbolasers and anti-starfighter weapons than the older Class C model. Today, there are only few Class C Frigates still in serviece. One of them is the "Sudden Restoration", a probably rejected ship which has benn converted into a hospital starship.
